Kiss Me! I’m Irish…
… Well, not really. I am German, but I hear that is what people say today - St. Patrick’s Day!
So, Happy St. Patrick’s Day! It’s my first one! In honor of the day, I got a “Kiss Me, I’m Irish” neck tie. I love giving kisses, but this one is to give me kisses. *Arf!* It’s green and has shamrocks and sparkles on it! I also got to to take a car ride and people watch tonight. Lots of people decked out in their own green liked my tie! There is a St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend. I hope I can go so I can wear my tie again! ~Tetley

Follow-Up: My First Roadtrip

Co-Pilot Tetley
Today I just got home from my first road trip. We went to Maryland. It was really cold, so we didn’t make it to Washington, DC as planned, but walked around downtown historic Frederick and some other new places. Mom says we might go back up for the Cherry Blossoms in the Spring if I am a good girl. That would be fun! The drive up wasn’t bad. We took a couple breaks so I could stretch my legs and get some water. I didn’t cry once in the car. I had my blanket and my blue bear, so I slept most of the time.

Checking the Perimeter
When we got to the Maryland house I immediately ran up 4 flights of stairs and “checked the perimeter” on each level – I had no fear! I had to make sure my Mommy was safe! She was so proud of me and said I was a good German Shepherd!
On the way back we hit a snowstorm in Central Virginia. We stopped and I got to stay in my first hotel. I was good there too, and made friends with the receptionists. They gave me a doggie welcome bag!
I had fun, but I was happy to get home. I missed playing in the backyard and chasing the kitties! ~Tetley

Roadtrip this Weekend!
I am taking my first long roadtrip this weekend – 450 miles, approximately 7 hours. We are going to our house in Maryland. While we are there we may go into Washington, DC!
I will miss training this weekend, but I am excited for the new sights and sounds. In fact, I started packing already and showing how much of a good girl I will be on the ride. I got my blanket and bone. I am set! I also collected a pair of Dad’s jeans, a Villanova sweatshirt (they play Georgetown this weekend!), and a pair of socks. I put them on my bed with my blanket and bone just to help pack.

First Day at Camp
Today was my first day of Doggie Day Camp at Camp Wagging Tails. It’s near Mom’s work so I got to go on a car ride with this morning on her way to work. Mom says Doggie Day Camp is good for me because I get lots of exercise and socialization with other dogs. I guess so, but I just liked playing all day.
There was an outdoor play area with astroturf, playgrounds, sand boxes, and even a pool with a fountain (for when it’s warmer). In the morning I got to romp around and play outside with a bunch of other dogs. Then between 12pm and 2pm I got my lunch snack and took a nap in a crate that looked just like mine at home. It didn’t have a bed in it, but that was OK. It’s supposed to be more sanitary that way. I was so tired from the morning, I didn’t care anyway! After nap time it was back outside for another play session before being picked up on the way home from work with Mom. “Arf!” Another car ride! But I was so tuckered that I didn’t do any scenery watching, I just fell asleep.
I go back to Camp tomorrow, but will go once every week or two. The other days I will still go on my mid-day walk with Steve. Yippee! Everyday is fun, fun, fun! Oh, I forgot! I also get a daily report card from Camp! Below is mine from today. I did good!
