“Puppy Training Challenge:” Week 4 Update

Week 4:  January 25 – February 1

I am 16 weeks old now and this is my final week of “The Puppy Training Challenge.”  I will still be out experiencing new people, animals, and other things, but I will have a new set of weekly goals.  

1. Meet 25 new people:  Again, easy.

2. Meet 5 new animals – I met over 5 new dogs this week including a Malamute, Boxer, Jack Russell Terrier, and a few Golden Retrievers.  

3. Walk on 2 new surfaces:  Sand

4. Hear a new sound:  Wind chimes

5. Go to a new place indoors: Another Petsmart visit

6. Go to a new place outdoors: Catawba River

7. Start learning a new behavior:  Drop vs. Off

8. Prove a known behavior in a new location:  Place – on my bed

US National Whitewater Center & Catawba River

Today I went to the US National Whitewater Center.  I was here once before at Christmas.  This time though, we went hiking on a short trail, climbed up and down some big rock hills, and even went down to the Catawba River’s edge.  I actually went into the River!  It was COLD, but I splashed around and got out all wet.  I also saw people in a boat and crawled into/over/under kayaks.  Afterward, I sat under a table while Mom and Dad had lunch and watched people pass by on bikes and zipcorders whizzing overhead.  Here are some pictures:
